A Career Built on Skill and Integrity

Simon Thackeray qualified in dentistry from the University of Sheffield in 1991. Since then, he has developed a career rooted in clinical precision, continuous learning, and above all, integrity. Over the years, Simon has continued to advance his knowledge and refine his techniques, staying at the cutting edge of modern dentistry while holding firmly to the core values of patient centred care.

He established Thackeray Dental Care in Mansfield with a simple but powerful philosophy: patients deserve to be treated with respect, honesty, and transparency. That vision continues to guide the practice to this day, making it a place where people feel genuinely cared for and never rushed or pressured.
Simon’s approach is clear and calm, he believes in helping patients understand their dental health so they can make informed decisions with confidence.

A National Voice for Dentistry

Simon is not only dedicated to his patients but also to the profession itself. He has become a respected voice in UK dentistry, advocating for ethical practice, reform, and patient care on a national level. He has contributed to media commentary, written for dental publications, and regularly speaks at conferences and industry events.

His commitment to elevating the standards of care and ethics in dentistry has earned him the respect of both colleagues and patients alike.

What Patients Appreciate

Patients often remark on Simon’s ability to put them at ease, particularly those who are nervous or have had difficult experiences in the past. His straightforward, reassuring manner makes every appointment feel manageable and stress-free.

He’s known for taking the time to listen, explain treatment options clearly, and provide the kind of care that builds long-term trust. Many of his patients have been seeing him for years, some even for decades, which is a true reflection of the relationships he builds.

Outside the Surgery

When he’s not working, Simon channels his creativity through music. He is an accomplished drummer and musician, with a long-standing passion for rhythm and performance. This musical interest reflects the same qualities he brings to dentistry, focus, discipline, and a keen attention to detail.
